Overview
The University of Melbourne’s new Merchandise Store sits at the base of the New Student Precinct, feeding into the Parkville Campus’ exciting and evolving building fabric. Located within an existing cold-shell tenancy space within the beloved heritage 1888 building, the small 45 square meter shop is designed to be highly flexible and an exciting destination for students and visitors alike.
Shifting away from traditional stock displays, the merchandise store instead utilises custom-designed adjustable joinery to ensure a high degree of flexibility for the university’s ever-evolving offerings, ranging from small plush bears, cufflinks and stationery to large travel bags, umbrellas and clothing.

To hero the predominantly navy blue stock, a carefully selected material palette of chartreuse green and chrome was chosen as a bold and vibrant approach, while also complementing the key university colour.
